Halva is probably the most ancient candy in the Middle East. Touring in the old city, we met Imad who makes his own Halva in the family small factory in Nablus. He makes the Halva in a traditional method: he slowly cooks sesame seeds, sugar and Halva root. At the end of the process he will add coffee, pistachios or else. This is an amazing natural, vegan sweet. Please do not keep in a refrigerator but in a cool dark place. It will last more than a year.
